Even before the release of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, data miners and famous Fortnite leakers like Shiina and HypeX have several content details regarding the following Chapter 6, including a release date.
According to the leaks (some already known), the upcoming Chapter 6 will have various exciting features like prone and swinging mechanics. The latter is a game-changing feature that will only further enhance the current ongoing meta of using character speed to reposition and fight. Just imagine the chaos in the lobby when multiple movement-based abilities like swinging, nitro, and flowberry fizz are being used at the exact same moment!
The prone mechanic looks like a decent feature if it makes it to the final game. It will allow players to play more methodically and strategically by capturing high ground in lower elos, but it may be a hit or miss in higher-ranked games with all the movement-based abilities. For example, the notion of lying down with a sniper in an elevated position may sound great, but you will definitely find several enemies swinging or using their nitro abilities to reach and attack you with shotguns. Only time will tell if it's a great addition or a waste of development time.
Other than these, the leakers have also mentioned the re-introduction of floating island themes and the addition of creative pet supports. The floating island was a unique concept that had a single floating island at the center of the map, seen way back in 2019 during Season 4; its unique design provided ample opportunity for unique fight scenarios and was extremely fun to play. The creative pet support may also prove to be an exciting addition that will enable custom room creators to mess around creating unique pets with the available presets.

The biggest highlight of these leaks is the estimated release date for Chapter 6. That is to say, Fortnite Chapter 6 will be released around the start of December 2024 if these are to be believed (as ever, always take leaks with a grain of salt).
