How to get Dill Bits in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 and How to Use Them

Fletcher Kane and his henchmen have arrived in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 and have brought new currencies including Gold Bars and Dill Bits. These are useful items that can be used to purchase mythic and legendary items on the Black Market. While Gold Bars are easily obtainable, here's how you can get your hands on Dill Bits.

How to get Dill Bits in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2

Dill Bits are the physical cryptocurrency tokens of Fortnite that appear inside the vaults around the map. To obtain these, you'll have to fight a bunch of guards and explode open the vault. Consequently, Dill Bits are more valuable than Gold Bars as they require more effort to collect.

Where to find vaults in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 (Map Location)

Five vaults spawn every match and their location is marked by the symbol I've highlighted in the image above. Open your map and place a marker to whichever vault POI you want to visit: Masked Meadows, Crime City, Lonewolf Lair, Seaport City, and Armored Train. While the first four vaults always appear inside the same building every game, the train is mobile and you'll have to board it to access its vault.

How to open vaults in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2

The vaults at the aforementioned POIs (excluding the Armored Train) are guarded by Fletcher Kane's mob members. They are easy to defeat but also beware of enemy players and these places are hot drops because everyone's eying for the loot behind that door. Firstly, look for a Thermite around the area as you must place it on the vault door to crack it open.

If you manage to get your hands on a Plasma Burst Laser, grab it and shoot it at the weak point (see image above) to speed up the process. You can even shoot your regular weapon at it. Once unlocked, enter the vault and take out all the enemies before collecting the two Dill Bits inside (second image). Note that enemies appear in waves, so keep an eye on the bar at the top of the screen and be prepared to fight. Most foes are easy to defeat but be cautious of the armored opponent and the wolf Fletcher Kane if he spawns.

How to loot the Armored Train vault in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2

Because the train is mobile, it may seem difficult at first to hijack it. However, I found it to be easier compared to the vaults inside buildings as I wasn't overwhelmed by too many NPC henchmen or enemy players. Gear up and find some weapons, then locate the train on the map and follow it using a vehicle.

• Although the Armored Train stops frequently at stations, you can easily board a moving train as well. Once aboard, climb on the roof and shoot out the turrets. When the turrets are attacking you, drop down to the platform connecting two compartments to hide from it. It'll soon heat up and this is when you go back up and shoot it down.
• There are two turrets on the train, take them out and collect Thermites from there (second image above).
• Place these Thermites on the hatch on the central bogey to blow it up (third image). Step back a bit and let it explode to expose the main compartment with all the loot.
• The fight is not over yet as you'll have to take out the NPCs who'll jump out of the compartment to attack you.
• Once the area is clear, get inside the train and collect all the loot inside from the chests. More importantly, don't forget the Dill Bits you came for (see the fifth image).

I found two Dill Bits inside the Armored train vault as well as some mythic and legendary weapons including the Falcon Eye Sniper and The Kneecapper melee weapon.

How to use Dill Bits in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2

Unlike Gold Bars, Dill Bits cannot be carried forward by players into the next match. Therefore, it's best to spend them once you get the opportunity. You can visit the nearest Black Market which is marked by a special icon on the map (see image above).

There you can purchase mythic and legendary weapons like the Falcon Eye Sniper, Collateral Damage Assault Rifle, and Outlaw Shotgun using this currency. You can also acquire Boons that are power-ups for your players. Each weapon and boon cost one Dill Bit. Here's a list of all the available Boons and their ability:

• Vulture Boon: Shows where players are eliminated on the map.
• Gold Rush Boon: Open or destroy chests to obtain Gold Rush (movement and pickaxe swing speed boost).
• Adrenaline Rush Boon: Obtain the Slap effect that regenerates your energy upon mantling, hurdling, and wall jumping.
• Gold Ammo Boon: Picking up Bars also grants you ammo.
• Greed Boon: Get more Bars by eliminating players and opening containers.
