Subnautica 2 early access will release later in 2025. We can hope for Q3, but with no news just yet, Q4 seems like a more fitting timeline. It's not confirmed exactly when we will get the release date, but the official Q&A mentioned that we should keep an eye on their social media like X or Discord.
What Platforms will Subnautica 2 Early Access be on?
Subnautica 2 will only be on platforms that support Early Access and Game Preview, so that means it will only release on PC and Xbox at the start. If you're a Playstation and Switch player, don't worry. The game will come to these platforms as well, except the wait will be a little longer.
Does Subnautica 2 have Multiplayer?
The horrors of the ocean are best weathered by forcing your friends to play the game with you. Luckily, Subnautica 2 will support co-up with up to 4 people. You can still choose to enjoy the game on your own with singleplayer, as well, you'll just now have the chance to play together as well.
One major request for Subnautica 2 is the proximity voice chat. Games like Lethal Company and R.E.P.O. which use proximity chat have seen great success, keeping the fear of the game while adding the hilarity of listening to your friend scream from far away.
