How to automatically assign tasks to new units in Age of Empires IV

One less step.

When you create new units in Age of Empires IV, you can set them to automatically go to specific areas or complete a specific job. This is limited, as you can't assign military units to attack. Still, you can set a Rally Point for them or make villagers harvest a resource.

To do this, you only need to use your mouse. The first thing you need to do is select the building that is producing the unit you want to assign a task. When it is highlighted, right-click the location/task to which you'd like the units to go. If the building you selected produces villagers, any villagers it produces will automatically begin harvesting the resource you set it to.

If the building you select produces any other unit, the units will rally at that location or resource you select. They will not attack any enemies on the way there, so it's best to set them on a path where they won't be interrupted.
