How to get a mount in Albion Online

Buy, craft, or grow.

Mounts are the faithful companions that carry us through the world of Albion Online. Every player starts with a mule but at some point this mount will no longer be useful. For your next mount, you will most likely want to invest in a Horse or an Ox. When you're ready for an upgrade, you can buy a new mount from the marketplace, craft one from a saddler, or make one yourself.

Buy a Mount from the Marketplace

All cities in Albion Online have a marketplace, but each store is local to the individual city, so items and prices may vary across each marketplace. Everything is bought and sold by the players, and even though they set the prices, mounts usually run for a consistent price.

While browsing through a marketplace, filter your search by Mount (second tab) and Tier 3 (third tab), or directly search for the mount. Of course, you will need to match the asking price of the mount, so make sure to have plenty of silver.

Craft a Mount with the Saddler

Alternatively, you can craft your own mount, but you must have the Harvester tier unlocked in the Farming line of the Destiny Board. This is much cheaper than buying a mount directly from the marketplace. Instead, you can purchase materials and take them to a Saddler to make your own. Oxes require 30x Tier 3 Planks and Horses require 20x Leather.

Make your own Mount

To make your own mount you must have a Level 3 island, which grants you two farming plots, and a baby mount. These offspring mounts are cheapest when purchased from the marketplace. You will need one farming plot to grow food for your baby mount. The second farming plot is where you will place your baby mount, feed them, and nurture them.

Mount Requirements

Players must be at least the Journeyman Adventurer tier to use the Horse and Ox. Follow the vertical line on your Destiny Board to track this progress. As you progress this tier tree, more mounts will be available to use.
