While these tools can still break, it will be far less often than the other sets of tools you can create. Getting a golden option for each tool is a bit of an endeavor, but can be worth it if you plan on playing the game long term!

How to Get Golden Tools

These are really long term options, so don't expect to get them right away! Obtaining each of these will take quite a bit of time, so make sure this is something you really want to accomplish before attempting to get them. You also might not even want to use the golden tools. They will break after a certain amount of uses, and crafting them is quite costly because gold nuggets are pretty rare!

Golden Axe

To obtain the Golden Axe, you will need to break 100 axes. It can be Flimsy or normal axes, but obviously the Flimsy axe is far more easy to create and break. Each Flimsy axe costs 5x tree branches and 1x stone. The branches can easily be obtained by continually shaking a tree. Don't worry about shaking different trees, you can just shake the same one over and over again. Rocks are going to be far harder to come by, because you have a specific amount of boulders to smack on your island and they don't always drop rocks. To get more, you can do some time traveling or you can travel to mystery islands and smack rocks there as well.

Once you've broken all 100 axes, you will receive the Golden Axe DIY recipe in the mail.

Golden Fishing Rod

To obtain the Golden Fishing Rod, you are going to need to catch every fish in the Critterpedia. You'll need to be fishing for quite a while, and not only that you will need to go through various seasons and fish at different times of day. Golden Net

Golden Shovel

To get the Golden Shovel, you will need to help Gulliver 30 times! Gulliver will be washed up on shore at random, you will sometimes see him laying on the beach when you start up the game via the start screen. Once you see him, go over and talk to him and continue to pester him until he wakes up. He will ask you to find communicator parts, these can be found on the beach in the same spots that clams can be dug up. Look for a small hole that spits up water! Help him 30 times... and you will obtain the Golden Shovel DIY recipe.

Golden Slingshot

You can obtain the Golden Slingshot by popping 300 balloons! Once you've done that, you will eventually see a golden balloon flying in the air. Pop that balloon and you will then find the Golden DIY recipe for the Golden Slingshot! This process will take a while, so be prepared to shoot quite a few balloons.

Golden Watering Can

To obtain the Golden Watering Can, you need to get your town to a 5-star rating. This is later in the game once you've upgraded your Resident Services area. Once you've done that, you can talk to Isabelle and ask her to evaluate your island. To upgrade your star rating, you will need to place items, flowers, trees, and construct all of the possible buildings. You can go back and talk to Isabelle to see what people are requesting be added. Once you've gotten the 5-star rating, Isabelle will give you the DIY recipe for the Golden Watering Can.
