Brewster and The Roost café are a staple of the Animal Crossing universe and were introduced to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the 2.0 free update. That said, you have to get Brewster to come to your island to go to The Roost café. Here is how to get Brewster and The Roost café in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Meeting All Prerequisites

First things first, you need to have a three-star island and have donated at least 60 items to the Museum, with at least one of each donation type (art, sea creature, fish, bug) to get Brewster. If you only have two or one stars, or haven’t donated enough, you will have to continue playing until you meet all of the requirements.

Talking to Blathers

If you have not talked to Blathers in the Museum since the 2.0 free update came out in November 2021, or since your island reached three stars, you will need to talk to him. He will tell you about his wishes to open a café in the Museum, and an old friend named Brewster who could help him run it.

Going on a Boat Tour

Once your villager character knows about Brewster, you can find him by going on a Boat Tour. To go on a Boat Tour, you will have to talk to Kapp’n, who will be at your island in his boat now that it has three stars. Traveling on his boat will cost you 1,000 Nook Miles, but the trip will be worth it.

Finding Brewster

When you arrive on the mystery island, Brewster will be walking around on it somewhere. He will be in casual clothes rather than his usual uniform, so be sure to keep an eye out for a white hat and a yellow striped shirt. Once you find him and speak with him, you can get him to come to your island. He will also gift you a Gyroid Fragment for talking to him.

Getting The Roost café on your island

Once you have talked to Brewster, you must return to Blathers at the Museum and tell him the news. This is important because it will delay The Roost café being built on your island if you don't do this. However, if you do forget, you can still do it later.

Once you have talked to Blathers, the Museum will be closed for construction the following day. The Roost café and Brewster will now be in your Museum the day after that! Visit as often as you like, alone or with company. Your first cup of coffee will be on the house, courtesy of Brewster himself.
