All Apex Pack types and how to get them in Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a free-to-play game that makes most of its money via premium cosmetic purchases. While these have been done in various ways, one of the major ways is through the loot box system in the game: Apex Packs. Apex Packs come in quite a few different varieties, though, and not every Apex Pack offers the same type of content to the player. Let’s take a look.

All Apex Pack Varieties

There are six major types of Apex Packs in Apex Legends. Note that any Apex Pack other than the event packs also have a less than 1% chance of having Heirloom Shards (the Mythic-tier currency in the game) in them instead. It is also guaranteed at pack number 500. Apex Packs never have repeats inside of them, as there are no duplicate cosmetics in this game.

• Apex Packs (Rare)
  • Costs 100 Apex Coins (always available)
  • Earn by leveling up or via events
  • Guarantees one Rare or better, Epic (24.8%) or Legendary (7.4%)
  • Other two items at the standard rate: Rare (25%), Epic (3.5%), Legendary (1.5%)
• Epic Apex Packs (Epic)
  • Earn via Battle Pass or buy in a bundle
  • Guarantees one Epic or better, Legendary (7.4%)
  • Other two items at the standard rate: Rare (25%), Epic (3.5%), Legendary (1.5%)
• Legendary Apex Packs (Legendary)
  • Earn via Battle Pass or buy in a bundle
  • Guarantees one Legendary cosmetic, Legendary (100%)
  • Other two items at the standard rate: Rare (25%), Epic (3.5%), Legendary (1.5%)
• Collection Event Packs (Epic)
  • Costs 700 Apex Coins (Collection Event only)
  • Earn via events (Anniversary Prize Tracker only)
  • Guarantees one of the 24 collection cosmetics: Epic (50%), Legendary (50%)
  • Other two items at an increased rate: Rare (70%), Epic (20%), Legendary (10%)
• Thematic Event Packs (Rare)
  • Costs 400 Apex Coins (Thematic Event only)
  • Earn via events (Week-long Prize Tracker only)
  • Guarantees one of the 40 thematic cosmetics
  • Other two items at the standard rate: Rare (25%), Epic (3.5%), Legendary (1.5%)
• Legend-specific Packs (Rare)
  • Earn via events or buy in a bundle
  • Guarantees one Rare or better cosmetic for a specific Legend
  • Other two items at the standard rate: Rare (25%), Epic (3.5%), Legendary (1.5%)
