Control is a 9V9 game mode in Apex Legends where players must earn points via taking control of various zones. Unlike in any other game mode, in Control, players respawn shortly after they die, and can jump right back into the action… but where is this action taking place? Control needs much less space than Battle Royale, but a fair bit more space than Arenas. Let’s take a look at what this means for Control.
Control Maps
The maps for Control mode will be sectioned off Points of Interest (POIs) that are some of the bigger ones in the game. This is similar to the Arenas map rotation when the mode was first released: three of the original Arenas maps were sectioned off smaller POIs. That said, there are no Control-only maps… yet. Right now, Control has two maps.

Both maps have updated geometry, cover, and mobility options such as new ziplines. It is possible that more maps, maybe even original maps, will be added to Control in the future.
