Apex Legends Battle Season 1 Release Date

The Season 1 Battle Pass was released on March 19th, 2019 at 10am PST.

Apex Legends Battle Pass Cost

The cost of the battle pass will be 950 Apex Coins. This will set you back $9.99 USD in the shop. You can also purchase the "Battle Pass Bundle" for 2,800 Apex Coins and get the Battle Pass, plus unlock your next 25 levels instantly. You can also purchase these through Amazon (purchasing through this link supports the site!) for yourself or as a gift for an Apex Legends fan!

Purchasing the battle pass will instantly unlock the Lifeline Revolutionary skin, the Wraith Survivor skin, and the Mirage Outlaw skin. If you can't decide if you'd like to purchase the Battle Pass, any progress you make towards it will be rewarded when you make the purchase. You keep all cosmetics you earn from the Battle Pass once the season ends.

Leveling Up the Battle Pass

Leveling up the Battle Pass will be focused on XP. There isn't going to be challenges to complete like in Fortnite. This can be viewed positively or negatively depending on how you feel about it personally. More information will be available on this tomorrow, according to a Community Manager on Reddit.

Bonus Legend XP

Playing with different Legends give a bonus based on your survival time, up to 25,000 Battle Pass Points per Legend each week.

It looks like if you spread your play between Legends you will get more experience towards your Battle Pass. Probably a good idea for anyone looking to level it up as fast as possible!

BATTLE PASS FAQ

How do I buy the Battle Pass?

The Battle Pass can only be purchased in the in-game store using Apex Coins. Launch Apex Legends, navigate to the Battle Pass tab, and purchase the Battle Pass from there. If you need to purchase Apex Coins, you can do that in the store, too.

What happens if I buy my Battle Pass late in the season?

You’ll receive all the rewards up to your Battle Pass level (which is your current level for the season) retroactively! For example, if you’re on level 20 for the season when you buy the Battle Pass, you’ll unlock all rewards for every level up to 20, plus three special Battle Pass skins.

If you buy the Battle Pass Bundle, you’ll get the rewards for 25 levels in addition to the levels you’ve already reached. So, if you’re on level 20 for the season when you buy the Battle Pass Bundle, you’ll get all the rewards through level 45 and the three special Battle Pass skins.

Can I keep leveling my Season 1 Battle Pass after the season ends?

No, the rewards available in the Season 1 Battle Pass can only be earned until the season is over. After it ends, you won’t be able to earn new Wild Frontier content.

Do I keep my stuff after the season ends?

Yes! You keep every Battle Pass reward you’ve unlocked after the season is over.

What if I don’t buy the Battle Pass? Can I still earn rewards for free?

Yes. Even if you don’t purchase the Battle Pass, you can still earn the following items for free:

  • 1 Wild Frontier Legend skin
  • 5 Apex Packs
  • 18 Wild Frontier stat trackers

If I buy the Battle Pass, can I also get the free rewards?

Yes! Everyone can earn the free rewards during Season 1.

Leaked Battle Pass Information

Respawn Response

Looks like Respawn wanted to quell some of the rumors about the Battle Pass and leaks surrounding it with the following response:

Hey Friends,

So between the datamining and the unintentional update about Season 1 on Origin today, there’s been a lot of speculation and confusion so we wanted to give some clarity:

  • We’ll be providing details on Season 1, Battle Pass, and the next Legend very soon. It’s not coming out today.
  • There’s lots of stuff that has been datamined from Apex since launch and is swirling around the Internet. We know this stuff is fun to dig up and speculate about, but you should not treat any of that info as a source of truth. There’s stuff in there that is very old, or things we’ve tried in the past and cut--remember our design process is to prototype and play lots of ideas--and some of it may be things we’re still building for Apex Legends. Finding this stuff by no means confirms that it’ll ever come out. At best you should treat any posts about this as a rumor and the real info will come from us when we’re ready to show off what’s coming next.

Thank you to everyone for staying patient through this and hang tight. We’re excited to get Season 1 kicked off and having you grinding on that Battle Pass with a new Legend to master soon.

Update: Battle Pass Leaks

Some leaks have been found recently, by RealApexLeaks on Twitter. First image just displays some of the buttons that will be used in the menus.

Unlockable character skins confirmed.

Some kind of different background for the lobby with the battle pass.

There will be a "Battle Pass Bonus" which could be +XP or something of that nature.

There's some more leaks in this Tweet, some stuff about an icon for a free pass (there'll hopefully be a free option), a diamond level (maybe paid, maybe something else), and a details box.
