With the return of Gun Run in Apex Legends Season 21 (Upheaval), players now have the chance to jump into a match where looting and planning a loadout simply isn't part of the rules. With constant respawns and fast-paced gameplay, here are the best tips for Gun Run this season.
Gun Run is the best way to practice in Apex Legends
Regardless of whether you're new to the game or have been playing for a while, Firing Range may have been your comfort zone for practicing with different weapons. However, think of Gun Run as the ideal mode where you can try out different guns in unique situations to truly test your wit and skills.
However, despite the randomness of Gun Run, there are certain things you can keep in mind that will make the entire match enticing rather than daunting.
Third partying is the key to victory!
In Apex Legends' default battle royale mode, you have to be careful with where you go and how you communicate with your teammates. In the case of Gun Run, you need to be fast on your feet at all times! This means that moving around, sliding, sprinting, and constantly moving from one place to another is the key.
As you do this, you'll keep coming across players who are busy fighting each other. That's your cue for engaging in battle. With new map additions to the mode (such as Core), players have new things to learn about the larger World's Edge map. However, your focus will largely be on the enemies you're going up against. Keeping this in mind, stay focused on the fights you can interrupt and kills you can poach and claim as your own.
Prepare for the next weapon
The only way to know what you'll be using next is by taking a look at the bottom-right of the screen. This is where you will see which gun is coming your way once you get a kill with your current weapon. For instance, Nemesis comes in right after the R-301 in the screenshot above.
As the game progresses, the weapons become harder to use. For example, snipers and marksman rifles are largely towards the endgame, and you'll have to switch up your playstyle a little by keeping your distance from enemies as you plan kills with a scope. Either that or go in for a no scope if you're totally MLG pro.
Use the best Legends
Out of all the Legends available in the game right now, Alter has been the newest addition. She's quite aggressive and thanks to her void abilities, she can third-party with ease. Similarly, Legends like Octane, Pathfinder, and Valkryie can provide much-needed mobility.
If you're looking to be extra cautious, go with Legends like Bloodhound and Seer who can provide much-needed scan abilities. They will let you know where you should be driving your attention towards, and which enemies to attack first.
