What is the Apex Legends Kill Code event?

The Apex Legends Kill Code event is a series of short stories and in-game activities revealing the origins of Revenant Reborn. In Season 18, Revenant was reworked with new abilities and a new look. The Kill Code event shows the changes Revenant went through and his connection to the other Apex Legends characters.

The Kill Code event is broken up into four parts and an in-game event. Here are all the Apex Legends Kill Code parts explained:

Kill Code: Part 1

Kill Code Part 1 is a Stories of the Outlands video kicking off the cinematic story of Revenant Reborn. Loba, Lifeline, and Mad Maggie encounter the destroyed remains of Revenant, during an investigation of a remote factory connected to Silva Pharmaceuticals. The security system activates, making Spectre robots attack them, and as they escape, Loba is able to grab Revenant's eye.

Kill Code: A Thief's Bane

A Thief's Bane is a single-player limited-time game mode released on July 21, 2023, following Loba through the facility to uncover more secrets about Revenant. The game mode was essentially an obstacle course making use of movement skills and Loba's abilities. At the conclusion of the game, Loba finds that Revenant's source code has been transferred and takes his eye.

Kill Code: Part 2

Kill Code: Part 2 served as the launch trailer for Season 18, which introduced Revenant Reborn. Loba takes Revenant's head to Crypto, who attempts to read the data held on it. We then see glitched memories from Revenant's perspective, including his view of a lab where he loses control as he sees Torres Silva with his organic head. The team realizes that Torres can control Revenant as long as he has his organic head. Revenant then bursts into the room, grabbing Revenant and demanding to know what happened to him.

Kill Code: Part 3

The team of Loba, Lifeline, and Maggie decide to break into a Hammond Facility to attempt to destroy Revenant's source code. While infiltrating the facility, their cover is blown and a fight ensues. They find the source code, but Loba prevents Crypto from destroying it. The team fights over the source code and eventually, Valkyrie gets a hold of it. Loba threatens Valk for the source code, but Torres Silva shows up and steals the source code from a Black Market Boutique that Loba used in the fight earlier.

Kill Code: A Life for a Life

A Life for a Life is an animated short that shows Loba's despair as she struggles to decide whether to rescue Revenant or let him suffer in the hands of Silva. As Loba debates her position, she is visited by Revenant, who asks her if her life or his is more worth it to her.

Kill Code: Part 4

In the epic conclusion to the Kill Code series, Part 4 takes the team back to the Hammond Facility after tracking Octane, Torres Silva's grandson. Revenant retrieves the source code and gives it to Loba to destroy. As she attempts to destroy it, Torres tries to sway Revenant to stay alive. Revenant robots all over the facility come to life. One stabs Torres as Revenant grabs the source code. The team escapes as Revenant's eyes turn from yellow to red.

What does Kill Code mean for the Apex Legends story?

The Apex Legends storyline has been developing over the course of 19 Seasons and intertwines the characters with the Apex Games. Revenant and Loba have been engaged in a bloody rivalry, which spilled over into the Apex Games. Torres Silva is a major antagonist as the CEO of Silva Pharmaceuticals. Silva is responsible for many of the terrible events surrounding the Apex Games and the lives of the participants. With Torres gone, Revenant now has control over an army of his clones. There is a massive power shift after Silva's death, and someone will have to fill it in the upcoming events of Apex Legends.
