Best loadouts for Apex Legends Season 21

Do justice to those edgy personalities with edgier weapons in the Apex Games.

Apex Legends' Season 21 (Upheaval) has switched up the weapons meta. With the Wingman now as ground loot and Devotion going to the Care Package, what's the best loadout to go with? This guide will show you the best loadout you should be picking, so you're well-equipped in the battle.

Best weapons in Apex Legends Season 21

From Assault Rifles to Snipers, it truly depends on your playstyle and how you choose your favorites. However, every category of weapons has a gun that's better than the others, and here are the ones that should be in your arsenal.

Flatline

Sorry R-301 fans, but the Flatline is simply a better choice when it comes to recoil and attachments. This fully-automatic assault rifle does 18 damage to the body and 32 to the head. But, the main takeaway is the gun's recoil that's so simple to control.

Moreover, the Flatline requires just a scope, a heavy magazine, and a stock as attachments. That's it! This makes it an extremely versatile choice as a primary weapon, and you should be picking this one up the moment you see it.

Personally, I prefer a simple 2x scope as it lets me fire at both short and mid-range. The golden heavy mag and purple stock are the best that go along, so don't hesitate to ask your teammates to pick those up.

C.A.R. SMG

You probably didn't see this one coming, did you? Yes, the R-99 and the Alternative are great SMG options, but the C.A.R (Combat Advanced Round) SMG is the most versatile secondary weapon in the game. Why? Well, it lets you fire both Heavy and Light ammo. On PC, simply press and hold the B button to switch between ammo types.

The C.A.R. SMG inflicts 12 damage to the body, and 15 to the head. This is best experienced at close range, and it's advisable not to rely on an SMG for medium to long-range shots. Instead, switch back to your primary weapon in such cases.

Peacekeeper

Oh, Peacekeeper, you reliable little beast! The Peacekeeper is a lever-action shotgun that has been in the Apex Games since its first season and it refuses to climb down in the meta. Holding and aiming it lets it 'choke', which narrows the spread and gives you a highly accurate shot. Dealing with massive damage of 9x11 to the body and 11x11 to the head, the Peacekeeper is a highly reliable shotgun that can be an alternative to an SMG.

Remember that keeping a shotgun as your secondary weapon barely requires you to stock up on ammo. Just carrying 32 rounds is usually good enough, and you can keep the rest of your backpack space for primary ammo.

Longbow DMR

The Longbow DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) is for those who like to keep things at a safe distance and yet use high fire rates. Of course, it's not as fast as the 50-50 Repeater, but the Longbow delivers deadly damage of 55 to the body and 118 to the head. Now, that's some serious firepower considering it's not even a sniper rifle.

If you manage to find the Skullpiercing Rifling Hop-Up for the gun, it will multiply the headshot damage by 0.35. This is essential if you're going to use Longbow as a silent scout, waiting for enemies to show up.

Honorable mentions

I'd like to mention that the Spitfire and Kraber are some of my favorite weapons in situations that require heavy firepower. This is especially true when playing a Legend like Rampart who is faster with LMGs, and can use her Amped Cover to amplify any shots delivered by these two guns.

However, it's advisable to tune your loadout based on your Legend. For instance, if you're familiar with Alter's (Apex Legend's latest addition) abilities and how to use her, you can use something that's fast and close range. A Flatline paired with a Peacekeeper would make a great match.
