Drop Ship path changes on Storm Point for Apex Legends Season 12: Defiance

New drop routes mean new opportunities.

On Storm Point, the fourth map added to Apex Legends, there are so many places to drop. While there are favorites and least favorites (like with every map) if you found it rare to land at the Lightning Rod Point of Interest: it wasn’t just you. The Apex Legends development team looked closer into the drop ship paths during Season 11: Escape and realized it was relatively difficult to land in the Northeast corner of the map.

For Season 12: Defiance, the Drop Ship paths have been overhauled, giving players a much easier chance to drop in that sector of the map, especially in Lightning Rod, the most Northeastern POI. After the changes, the Drop Ship will more evenly flex between all of the map trajectories.

After these changes, you may still just prefer to land at your favorite POIs, but if you want to change things up and go with the flow, maybe give Lightning Rod, and the other Northeastern Points of Interest, a little bit more attention.
