Throughout the first 10 seasons of Apex Legends, there have been a few different ways to travel quickly between different parts of each map. Whether through portals like on Kings Canyon in Labs or Olympus’ Phase Runner, or with vehicles like the since-retired World’s Edge train, or the player-controlled Tridents. All of that said, outside of the Legend abilities, there has mostly just been one standard way to travel at higher speeds across all three older maps: Jump Towers.
The fourth map in the game, Storm Point, however, doesn’t have that many Jump Towers on it. Instead, there is a brand-new type of travel device on Storm Point: Gravity Cannons.
Gravity Cannons
Gravity Cannons are great for fast rotations, escaping the ring, or getting out of a sticky situation, but: if that sticky situation involves another team, it may follow you. Gravity Cannons work similarly to Jump Towers in that they can move you through the air, but that is where the similarities end.
Gravity Cannons have a faster lift off, but also shoot you in a pre-determined direction toward a Receiving Point. When in the air, you can move slightly, allowing players to land to the sides of a Receiving Point, rather than in the middle. This will be useful if another team is there, or has laid traps on a Receiving Point.
Also, unlike with Jump Towers, you can use all of your weapons, grenades and abilities while in the air.

Other ways to travel on Storm Point
- Jump Towers
There are still a few Jump Towers on Storm Point, just not nearly as much as the prior maps. Ride up the vertical zipline, and jetpack back down to a desired location. - Tridents
Formerly only on Olympus, Trident vehicles are also present on Storm Point. The can transport a whole squad with two riders, and one driver. - Skyward Dive (Valkyrie’s Ultimate)
Valkyrie’s Skyward Dive Ultimate Ability is more useful than ever, giving players the opportunity to freely reposition from anywhere on the map.
