How respawning works in Control Apex Legends

Guess who's back again?

Respawning has worked several different ways across game modes in Apex Legends. In the basic Battle Royale mode, you need a squadmate to respawn you by collecting your Respawn Banner, and anyone on your team can then respawn you at a Respawn Beacon. In Arenas, there is no way to Respawn, but lives reset between rounds. In the one other Control-type game mode, the Winter Express LTM, you would respawn automatically but need to wait for the start of a new round if you die.

Control throws all of that out the window. That right, Control has auto-respawn. So, you died? No big deal, you’ll be right back in the fray shortly. This is the first Apex Legends game mode aside from the short-lived Second Chance LTM from the War Games Event in Season 8: Mayhem. This means you should definitely not quit if you die because kills and deaths are pretty meaningless in Control. It’s all about taking those Zones.

Where you Respawn can vary depending on which Zones your team owns, but banners or round lengths do not stunt the ability to respawn, you can always come right back. Respawning will create a flash at your Spawn Location, and then you will fade in. Note that when you die, you will lose any Ratings/weapon bonuses you have, so staying alive does have its benefits.
