How the Kinetic Feeder Hop-Up works in Apex Legends

Movement is the key to unlocking this Hop-Up's power.

It’s not unusual that Apex Legends adds a new Hop-Up with a season launch, and Season 12: Defiance has brought us just that. According to an Apex Legends press panel, alongside bringing back an old fan favorite, Season 12 has also introduced the newest Hop-Up in the loot pool: the Kinetic Feeder. The Kinetic Feeder will be compatible with the Peacekeeper Shotgun and the Triple Take Marksman weapon.

You may notice that the chosen weapons are the same as the weapon that previously took the Precision Choke Hop-Up before the choke mechanic was built into the weapons. This is important and will come up in a moment.

First and foremost, the Kinetic Feeder is a marriage of movement and utility, in that it is the first Hop-Up activated by sliding. For those who don’t know, sliding is a movement created by having a forward motion and then moving into a crouch. It works best downhill.

When you slide the Kinetic Feeder will activate in two ways. One is that the weapon, if not fully-loaded, will slowly reload during the slide. The second is that it will increase the amount of time that the weapon will stay choked, and thus, the chosen weapon for the Hop-Up was the Peacekeeper and the Triple Take.
