Wildlife is a big part of the Storm Point Apex Legends map. While Flyers soar the skies and are not confined to a single location, the other creatures are found within Wildlife Nests scattered around the tropical map. Tracking down these nests is pretty simple once you get used to it, but it is important to know how it works. Let’s go over the different varieties of Wildlife Nests, and how to find them.
Prowler Dens
Prowler Dens are built up of jagged, pointed structure with Prowlers dwelling within. If you get too close, a patrolling Prowler will warn you not to go any further. If you do, or if you strike the Prowler, the Prowlers within will come out and attack too.
Spider Nests
Spider Nests are built up of several egg clusters, each home to a swarm of Spiders within. In order to engage in combat, you must damage the eggs. That will cause them to hatch, and you can fight the swarm. Be wary, they have ranged attacks.
Finding Wildlife Nests via the Minimap
Unlike with the Flyers, who will randomly appear in a few locations based on a predetermined set, Wildlife Nests will always be in the same location every match. You can find these locations by looking at your minimap, where Wildlife Nests will be marked in red.
Each nest is marked with a symbol that is either a Prowler or a Spider, telling the player if it is going to be a Prowler Den or a Spider Nest at that given location. While the locations themselves are finite, the amount of Wildlife within them can vary, so don’t be surprised if you return to a nest in a different match, and there are more creatures than last time.
If all Wildlife in a location is wiped out, the red map marker will disappear for the rest of that match. This means that even though locations never change upon generation, there will be times that you see fewer markers on the minimap.
