A new game mode coming in Season 16!

In Apex Legends Season 16, players will get to enjoy the brand-new Team Deathmatch game mode. Respawn's official blog mentioned some of the things players can expect next season, and the big highlight revolves around TDM's inclusion and Arenas getting removed. Here's how to play the Team Deathmatch mode in Apex Legends Season 16.

When is TDM coming to Apex Legends?

Team Deathmatch is coming to Apex Legends in Season 16 on February 14, 2023. This game mode will be available for the season's first three weeks. The rules for this game mode are yet to be revealed, but players can expect the traditional TDM format featuring different maps and locations. Usually, in Team Deathmatches, two teams square off against each other, with players respawning after getting eliminated. Naturally, selecting characters that pair well with other Legends will be key to thriving in this new game mode. Players can get into this game mode from the match selection tab in the lobby.

Will Arenas be removed in Apex Legends Season 16?

Unfortunately, yes, the developers have decided to sunset Arenas, and it will be removed from Apex Legends game modes in Season 16. Arenas were added to the game back in Season 9, and it became quite popular then. However, the current state of Arenas is not meeting the goals the devs had in mind, so it will be replaced in Season 16. While there is no official news regarding Arenas returning later on, players can look forward to the new permanent modes playlist Mixtape in the upcoming season.

What is the Mixtape in Apex Legends?

Mixtape will be a permanent playlist in Apex Legends Season 16 on March 7, 2023. This will be designed for players to master the combat system in Apex Legends by trying out different game modes. Mixtape will feature Team Deathmatch, Gun Run, and Control at launch. The devs also mentioned that eventually new game modes will be added to the Mixtape.
