How to stop enemies from spawning at the Central Zone in Control Apex Legends

Take what's not yours.

So, you’re playing Control in Apex Legends, and you are sick of the enemy team spawning in the Central Zone? Not to worry, there are a few ways to prevent this. Some of the options are more obvious or permanent than others, but overall, each of these ways will help your team out in play. Let’s begin with the clearest and most obvious method.

Take Control of the Central Zone

It’s important to remember that ownership is key to spawning in Control mode. The main reason that the enemy team is spawning from the Central Zone is that they own it. One strategy is to focus a good chunk of your team on breaking the enemy hold on the central location and snatching it for yourselves. If you also own your Forward Operating Base (FOB), you will now be the team able to spawn in the Central Zone.

Take Control of the Enemy’s FOB

A sneakier and just as effective option is taking control of the enemy team’s Forward Operating Base. While taking the FOB without owning the center will not allow your team to spawn there or the central zone, it will also prevent the enemy team from spawning anywhere that isn’t their Home Base because the connection is broken. It is important, though, once you have done this, to try to take down the Central Zone next, to avoid being hit at the enemy FOB from both sides.

A Temporary Solution

While this final solution isn’t permanent, laying hazardous traps, grenades, and ultimates around the enemy’s spawn can make players wary of spawning there. This is where Caustic, Wattson, and Fuse plays can come in handy. That said, this will not stop players from spawning there, only deter them.
