Armored Core 6 Pulse Shield Weakness & How To Defeat

Remove Pulse Shields quickly!

The main highlight feature of Armored Core 6 is its challenging boss fights. From the get-go, the game throws an array of NPC bosses that need to be tackled based on their movement mechanics, weapon arsenal, and attack strategy. Though each boss is unique, some aspects of gameplay mechanics are common throughout the game, like the Pulse Shield (a.k.a. Pulse Armor).

What is Pulse Armor / Pulse Shield in Armored Core 6?

As the name suggests, Pulse Armor or Pulse Shield is a pulsating/glowing shield that surrounds the outer layer of the boss character model during the initial phase of any battle. On first look, you may feel threatened by its appearance, but you can easily take down the Pulse armor with the help of a simple trick.

Pulse Armor is deployed during several phases of a fight—especially the starting phase. It's essential to deplete this blue-colored bubble, as you cannot cause damage to the boss's actual health without removing it. The first boss every player will face with a Pulse Shield is the battle against Balteus at the end of Chapter 1.

How to destroy Pulse Shields in Armored Core 6

The best counter to take down any boss NPC with a Pulse Shield in Armored Core 6 is to equip a Pulse weapon. Shooting with a Pulse gun will decrease the shield's bar pretty quickly, after which you can focus on the movement and weapon mechanics of the boss. You can find the shield bar right above the default health bar of the boss in blue color. If you don't have any Pulse weapon, use any energy weapon like laser or plasma.

As a last resort, you can also use shotguns to eliminate shields. They are not that effective, but you can equip them if you don't have any pulse-type weapons in your Assembly line.
