Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: How to get Tattoos

Tattoos are a way of Viking life!

Are you even a Viking without being tattooed from fingertips to the neck? Well, luckily, it's entirely possible in the latest Assassin's Creed game to be able to get tattoos but only in the Nordic style, sadly. Don't go expecting anything extravagant! Get into the Viking spirit, don your tunic and weapons, and set sail to New England.

Assassins Creed Valhalla: How to get Tattoos

To get tattoos in Assassin's Creed Vahalla, players must head to Svends and Tove's Tattoo Shop in Fornburg, though the story mission Honor Bound has to be completed before you can set sail on the high seas!

Players must end the story mission Honor Bound to be able to venture onto the seas, and instead of carrying on missions and quests, it's more important to deck yourself out as a proper Nordic Viking. To do this, head on over to Fornburg and find the Tattoo shop located there.

To find the tattoo shop, look out for a sign that resembles the number 8 as you explore Fornburg, it’s directly east of the longhouse (giant green building marker on your map). Once found, speak to Svend; he'll be either outside or inside. Interact with him and ask to see his tattoos, giving you access to his shop.

The areas that Svend can apply tattoos are the following:

  • Head
    • Applies tattoos to Eivor's face
  • Chest
    • Applies tattoos to Eivor's chest
  • Back
    • Applies tattoos to Eivor's back.
  • Arms
    • Applies tattoos to Eivor's arms.

Once again, do not go expecting anything massively exuberant, but there's enough to make you feel like somewhat of a Viking. We hope you can tattoo up your mercenary for use in the multiplayer mechanic in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Pick one area, or get ones for each area; we recommend the latter! This tattoo range can be increased by bringing them Cosmetic Schemes. We'll update this more when we know more!

What we find weird is that you don't receive any bonus hairstyles in any of the special editions of Assassin's Creed Valhalla when it releases in November.
