How to fix stutter in Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a return to the series' roots and reminds me heavily of the first Assassin's Creed with a new set of paint. Running through Baghdad as Basim Ibn Ishaq has been a blast, but I've run into a few issues. One hampering my enjoyment of the game is the constant stuttering, causing me to miss jumps or get hit in combat. If you're encountering this issue too, you may be wondering how to fix AC Mirage stuttering and restore smooth gameplay.

How to fix AC Mirage stuttering and lag

Players on PC may encounter stuttering and lag for several reasons in Assassin's Creed Mirage. Several solutions also exist, and it is worth trying each of them to fix your problem. Your mileage may vary when trying to eliminate stuttering, but with any luck, you'll find a solution. Here is how to solve and reduce Assassin's Creed Mirage stuttering and lagging.

• Update Graphic Drivers.
• Verify your PC meets the minimum requirements.
• Disable Ubisoft In-game Overlay
  • Open Ubisoft Connect.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Uncheck Enable in-game overlay for supported games.
• Reduce in-game graphics.
• Uninstall and reinstall Assassin's Creed Mirage.

If you have tried all the solutions above, it likely means the problem is not on your end but rather the game. You must wait for Ubisoft to patch the game through an update and fix the stuttering issue. Some areas seem to stutter worse than others, but it's hard to tell what causes this.

Does Assassin's Creed Mirage have Denuvo?

Denuvo is present in AC Mirage, and I suspect Denuvo has something to do with the stuttering and lagging in AC Mirage. Denuvo was added to the game after most outlets submitted their reviews, so not many mention it in their review. It's possible the stuttering is caused by something else, but we'll have to wait and see.

Until Ubisoft fixes this issue, you may need to wait to play Assassin's Creed Mirage or push through the stuttering as you play. I couldn't stand the stuttering, but thankfully was able to resolve my problem with the solutions above.
