If you've missed the Xbox Showcase Deep Dive into Avowed (an upcoming fantasy RPG set in the same universe as the Pillers of Eternity games), there are quite a lot of exciting features in the game, but the best one is the third-person gameplay mode.
You'll embark on a quest from the emperor to investigate the dream scourge in the Living Lands, forging your own bath as you make some crucial choices in the story. However, before you start a playthrough, you'll need to decide whether you want to play the game in first-person or in the confirmed third-person game mode.
First-person is a little more immersive for me, while third-person allows for a better perception of the area around you. It's all up to preferences, and it's really amazing that you have an option to choose what you like in this game.
While Avowed isn't a sequel to the Pillars of Eternity, there are connections between the two games. Inquisitor Lodwyn, a side character from the Lost Dues in Good Fait quest in Deadfire, now seems to play a bigger role in Avowed.
In both parts of Pillars of Eternity, you could play as a Godlike (a member of any species whose soul was touched by one of the gods). In avowed, the Godlike take center stage since your character is one. They usually have a physical manifestation of this feature on their face and head, which you can adjust. I'm very excited to see all of the options.
Obsidian Studios also paid homage to their Pillars of Eternity origins in the story trailer, showing us some beautiful isometric shots of the world of Eora. Hopefully, we'll get to see some of them in the Avowed cutscenes as well.
