Reverberation BG3 – How does it work?

Reverberate your enemies and lay them low.

My favorite part of Baldur's Gate 3 is how interactive and free the game is during combat. With numerous classes, multiple spells, and various status conditions to choose from, most encounters can be approached however you want. My latest favorite is using Reverberation, but it can be tricky if you haven't used it before. Here is how to use Reverberation and what it does in Baldur's Gate 3.

What is Reverberation in Baldur's Gate 3?

Reverberation is a status condition in Baldur's Gate 3. It can be applied in a variety of ways, but the main draw is the negative status it applies to enemies' stats and the chance to knock them prone. Here is how Reverberation works in Baldur's Gate 3.

  • Affected target has a -1 penalty to Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution saves per turn remaining. When the entity has 4+ turns of Reverberation, it takes 1-4 Thunder damage and possibly falls prone. The condition is removed afterward. Creatures Immune to Thunder damage cannot receive Reverberation.

Reverberation works great in weakening enemies with high stats or taking advantage of those with lower stats, allowing you to more effectively cast spells targeting Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution saves. My favorite is to cast Grease and knock enemies prone, especially if Reverberation lingers long enough to knock them prone again.

The best way to apply Reverberation to an enemy is to use a magic item. The items listed below allow you to inflict Reverberation on an enemy in Baldur's Gate 3.

  • Gloves of Belligerent Skies
  • Boots of Stormy Clamour
  • Spineshudder Amulet
  • Markoheshkir
