Broken Step is the new movement ability in Blasphemous 2, and you'll be needing it quite a bit going into the DLC at large. However, the game doesn't make it clear where to find this new ability, but fear not, for here we'll be going into where to find Broken Step in Blasphemous 2.
This guide will assume you've explored a good chunk of the base game of Blasphemous 2, as you need to have all three weapons and movement abilities before you can properly get into the DLC. However, if you are starting fresh, you'll need at least Ruego Al Alba to be able to reach the new ability.
How to get Broken Step in Blasphemous 2 Mea Culpa
Broken Step allows you to traverse on silver platforms, which normally break instantly upon so much as putting a dainty toe on 'em. You'll need to get by plenty of them as you explore, and especially if you're chasing after the elusive mud keys on the hunt for Mea Culpa. It doesn't allow you to stand on them indefinitely, mind you, so take care not to linger too long, lest you end up meeting a swift end.
In order to get the new ability, you'll first need to head to the teleport room in Choir of Thorns. This is the closest point to the new ability, and you'll be genuinely shocked at how easy it is to get to from here. Once you reach it, you may notice a new door to the right of the room that wasn't there before the DLC update.
Go through the door on the right, and then you'll have to do a quick gauntlet against some enemies, two of which I abhor so deeply it hurts. Fight through it, taking care near the silver platforms, and once you're done head on through.
You'll see a path ahead, and some walls you can climb up. Head up the walls first, and using Ruego Al Alba, perform a dive attack from the ledge to destroy a barricade. Once you're through, you'll be met with the statue holding the new ability for you right there.
If you'd prefer a quick run through in video form, then feel free to check out this very quick run through. Enjoy as you can watch, in real time, as my teeth break under the weight of my clenched jaw as that lantern guy knocks me off the platform. I really, really hate them.
