If you are looking to level up quickly in the new battle royale mode, then our Blackout Fast Leveling Guide will help you learn how to gain merit/experience as fast as possible!
This is a pretty simple system, and there's not a lot of ways to game it currently. If you are a better player and you are getting a lot of top 15+ and wins then you'll be leveling very quickly. However, if you are struggling in the game this is going to take you a lot longer. Thankfully, there's not a whole lot of benefits to being higher level. Yes, you get access to some sweet new characters, but these aren't going to really change up your gameplay too much.
Merits not Experience
First and foremost, the system in place in Blackout isn't called experience it's called Merit. You gain Merit from doing a variety of things, such as placements, kills, wins, and challenges. The higher you place in a game or the more kills you get will grant you more merits. If you win a game, you will get a set amount of merit. Early levels in the game come quickly and can be relatively easily earned no matter how you are doing, but as you get more levels you'll need to earn more and more.
How-to Earn Merits/Experience Fast in Blackout
Unfortunately there's not really a quick way to earn merit in the game. You really just need to grind out games and get kills and do well on your placements. I will break out what gives you more merit so you can try and focus on working on those particular things.
Kills
You get 10 merits for each kill. This is not super impressive, and while you might as well try to rack up as many kills as you can. You can likely get higher Merits just by surviving into the higher placements.
Placements
Placements is a pretty nice way to gain merits. The higher you place, the more merits you'll receive. Here's a breakdown of how many merits you get per placement:
- Top 15: 50 Merits
- Top 10: 50 Merits
- Top 5: 50 Merits
I honestly don't know if this is bugged, because it seems like you get the same merits for each tier.
Win the Game
Winning the game will get you a whopping 100 merits. This is obviously going to be the best way to level up as quickly as possible.
Challenges
Challenges are a great way to gain extra merits while you play. A lot of these will just be completed over time, so focusing on them might not be the best idea. For one time challenges, it looks like you get 100 merits, while if you clear ones with tiers you get 25 for each tier. There's also hidden Dark Ops Challenges for Blackout, they only give 25 merits each, but they also give you a Calling Card that you might enjoy.
