How to find your Activision ID for CoD

Call of Duty is for making friends!

Now that MW2 has finally dropped, gamers have Call of Duty fever again. With its robust multiplayer, Call of Duty is one of the biggest social games. To play with friends, though, players are going to need their Activision IDs handy. It's pretty difficult to remember the full ID for any player, so it's best to know how to check an ID.

Where to retrieve Activision ID

Every player on Call of Duty has an Activision ID, which they can find on the official Call of Duty website. Activision IDs look similar to Discord IDs in that four random numbers will follow a tag, and players will need the entire tag with the four numbers to add them on Call of Duty.

To check an Activision ID, follow these steps:

  • Head to Options on the Call of Duty website
  • Click on Settings
  • Click on Activision Account

This will bring up a display with the player's Activision ID. Sometimes the numbers might be hidden. In this case, players can click the Show Details button at the bottom left of the screen. Players can then send this information via screenshot or simply write it down so that a friend can add them.

Now that Call of Duty supports cross-play, it's important to remember that this will be the primary way to play with friends on other consoles. Many Call of Duty players prefers PC to Xbox or PlayStation, so having an Activision ID ready can be a great way to connect with these players.
