How to increase download speed on Battle.net

Battle.net servers get a lot of traffic when games get major updates that may cause players to experience slow download speeds. The following method has seemingly worked for many users:

  • Click on the Battle.net logo in the app's top-left corner and go to Settings.
  • Head to the Downloads section and scroll down to Network Bandwidth.
  • Check the box next to Limit Download Bandwidth and enter the value 500 (kb/s) in the Latest Content and Pre-release Content boxes.
  • Click on Done and start downloading the game or update.
  • Let the download start, wait for approximately 15 seconds, and then pause.
  • Now go back to the same settings menu above and uncheck the Limit Download Bandwidth box.
  • Resume your download and it should speed up.
