How to successfully exfil in MW3 Zombies

Playing MW3 Zombies mode is fun, especially since it amalgamates my two favorite game modes from previous Call of Duty titles. The DMZ aspect of its gameplay offers players a chance to escape the zombie-infested map with loot and XP, but they must make a successful exfil to accomplish this task.

How to make an exfil and extract loot in MW3 Zombies

To make a successful exfil in MW3 Zombies, all players must converge on one of the designated exfil points on the map once the countdown timer reaches zero or if they're ready to leave the game. However, this escape has a twist, as you will have to fight off a large horde of zombies before extraction can occur, just like in all zombie movies.

Preparation before attempting to exfil is the key, as you could lose all your progress and loot if you venture into it unprepared. Having enough ammo is one of the prerequisites for this encounter, as well as having a couple of Sentry turrets and a Killstreak in the team. I also suggest getting a Pack-a-Punch upgraded weapon.

To make the process easier for you, especially if you're making an exfil for the first time, I made a step-by-step guide so you know what to expect:

  1. Once you're ready to leave the match and make an exfil, look for the nearest blue Exfil symbol on the map.
  2. Once you reach the location, approach the blue smoke and press the action button to call the exfil helicopter. Be prepared, as this will trigger the zombie horde.
    • Being in a vehicle, like a Cargo Truck, will significantly increase your survivability. Just drive into the horde of zombies to clear an LZ.
    • A Cryo Freeze Ammo mod will also work wonders on the horde, rendering the fight less dangerous.
  3. Listen to the chopper pilot cues over voice comm. They will let you know when the chopper has arrived. You will have around 30 seconds to board it before it flies off.
  4. Once you board the chopper, the countdown will automatically go down to just a few seconds. At that point, you're home safe.
