Will DMZ and DMZ skins be removed in MW3?

The future of DMZ is looking rough.

DMZ was marketed as the next big thing before the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Infinity Ward was ambitious about its project that would capitalize on the booming extraction shooter genre after its success with Warzone back in 2020. It's been several months since DMZ's launch, but has it managed to grab gamers' attention?

Will DMZ be removed in Modern Warfare 3?

Call of Duty has been quiet on what would become of the DMZ mode in the franchise's 2023 game. They have talked about Warzone, Zombies, Multiplayer, and Campaign, but there has been no reference to DMZ whatsoever. This makes the future of the game mode highly uncertain, and as of now, it's unknown whether DMZ be removed in Modern Warfare 3.

However, I wouldn't give up hope, as there is still a chance of DMZ returning until Sledgehammer Games officially confirms that the game mode will not be returning. Players seem to enjoy the PvPvE extraction mode quite a lot, but it may not have reached the bigger Call of Duty audience. Hence, Activision may end up scrapping DMZ altogether, or it may revisit it again in the future. Even if DMZ ends up not being in MW3, it will be available in MW2 and may even receive updates over time.

Will DMZ skins be removed in Modern Warfare 3?

If you have unlocked operator skins and weapon blueprints by completing faction missions in DMZ, don't worry, as they will carry over to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The cosmetic bundles you've purchased from the store and all your weapon unlocks will be ready for use in MW3. Certain items like vehicle skins, wartracks, and equipment may not be available if they're not in the game. For instance, your skins for the Amphibious Vehicle will not carry over if that vehicle ends up not being in MW3.
