How to complete all levels of Haaland's Challenge

Since a new level opens up every other day, this post will be updated each time a new level is added to the game. Make sure you keep checking in to find out what is expected for that day.

This guide will be updated daily until all challenges have dropped!

Haaland's Challenge Level 1 - Payback Time

For the first challenge, you will need to defeat Haaland's real base (seen in the screenshot above) with a preset army. That army is comprised of the following:

  • x10 level 8 Balloons
  • x10 level 7 Dragons
  • x1 level 5 Lava Hound
  • x1 level 4 Stone Slammer
  • Level 65 Barbarian King
  • Level 65 Archer Queen
  • Level 40 Grand Warden
  • x4 level 6 Rage Spells
  • x5 level 7 Freeze Spells

The best strategy for this is to drop your troops where you see fit but ensure that the Freeze Spell is being used on all the air defenses. This isn't a difficult challenge so long as the air troops are able to do their jobs. You'll also want to ensure that you're using the Rage Spell when a larger number of troops is in its vicinity, giving you more of a chance to use it.

Haaland's Challenge Level 2 - Kicker Kick-Off

The second level of Haaland's Challenge is called "Kicker Kick-Off" and is an unnamed Town Hall level 12. You will have the following army:

  • x20 level 8 Barbarian Kickers (the new troop type)
  • x1 level 8 Sneaky Goblin
  • x1 level 6 Rage Spell

This level is easier than the first level as long as you have patience. You can easily defeat this one with three Stars. I have tried several strategies, and the easiest one, by far, is to just deploy all the Barbarian Kickers across the midfield line at once. This overwhelms the defenses, and you can drop the Rage Spell when a large portion of them come together. Then, use the Sneaky Goblin to go through and clear the resources while the defenses focus on the Barbarian Kickers.

Haaland's Challenge Level 3 - Golden Boot

Haaland's Challenge Level 3 - Golden Boot

In the third level of Haaland's Challenge, called Golden Boot, you will have yet another interesting Town Hall to defeat.

This is your army:

  • x13 level 12 Kicker Barbarians
  • x2 level 9 Goblins
  • x1 level 11 Super Valkyrie
  • x1 level 8 Bowlers
  • x1 level 10 Poison Spell
  • x1 level 8 Skeleton Spell

Once again, this town hall may originally seem tough, but you can easily conquer it just by overwhelming the Town Hall. All you need to do is use the Poison Spell on their Grand Warden and then spam all the troops on the endline by the goal. This will allow you to easily overrun the opponent and win. You can use the Skeleton Spell anywhere that you feel they could be helpful.

Haaland's Challenge Level 4 - Ball Buster

Haaland's Challenge Level 4 - Ball Buster

This is another one of the stages that will have a leaderboard for players to try out. Here's the army you will have during this round:

  • x6 level 5 Archers
  • x9 level 5 Wall Breakers
  • x8 level 6 Wizards
  • x3 level 4 PEKAs
  • x2 level 5 Minions
  • x17 level 6 Hog Riders
  • x5 level 3 Valkyries
  • x2 level 4 Golems
  • x1 level 30 Barbarian King
  • x2 level 6 Healing Spells
  • x2 level 4 Rage Spells
  • x3 level 4 Clone Spells
  • x1 level 4 Poison Spell

For this one, you will want to start at the endlines (it doesn't matter which one), which are the lines by the goals. First, release the Poison Spells on the Heroes, and then use 5 Wall Breakers to destroy the wall. Once that has been done, you can spam the rest of the army (minus the final 4 Wall Breakers) around the area that the Wall Breaks cleared. Use the Clone Spells where you see large amounts of your army congregating; this will ensure you get the most out of them. Keep track of everyone's health and use the Healing Spells when needed. Once you're close to the Town Hall, release the final 4 Wall Breakers to break the walls down, and use the Rage Spells to finish up the opponent.

Haaland's Challenge Level 5 - Thrower Throwdown

This challenge is certainly more difficult than the ones before. Before, you had a very good chance of winning if you just overwhelmed the opponent. This one requires some patience and strategizing. You will have the following army:

  • x18 level 11 Giant Thrower
  • x5 level 6 Rage Spells
  • x1 level 10 Poison Spell
  • x3 level 5 Earthquake Spells

For this challenge, you will want to be patient. The best thing to do is to put down two Giant Throwers at the corner near the Town Hall and throw down a Rage Spell. This will let them take out everything except the Inferno Towers. While they are dealing with that, use the Poison Spell to kill the reinforcements from the Clan Castle.

After those two have been defeated, drop one Giant Thrower on each side of the Inferno Towers and throw down a Rage Spell for each. They will destroy those towers and move on to the rest of the area. Now, you can use the Earthquake Spell on the two areas that are filled with defensive measures (by the Cannons and X-Bows). Next, drop a Rage Spell near where you dropped the Earthquake Spells and drop around five Giant Throwers on each side.

While the Giant Throwers are making easy work of what is left, drop your remaining Giant Throwers anywhere that you feel they can be used. This will ensure that you can finish out the match in plenty of time.

Haaland's Challenge Level 6 - Card-Happy

Haaland's sixth Challenge is one that is pretty difficult to get the hang of. You will have the following army while taking this on:

  • x1 level 3 P.E.K.K.A.
  • x2 level 5 Lava Hound
  • x1 level 9 Barbarian King
  • x10 Yellow Card Spell
  • x1 level 5 Haste Spell

This level seems to require a bit of luck on top of skill. To begin with, you will want to have your Barbarian King attack the air defenses while the P.E.K.K.A. attacks the ground defenses. The Yellow Card Spell will allow you to direct the troops, so be sure to use it on the air defenses at the bottom (where you will deploy the Barbarian King) and on the ground defenses at the top (where you will deploy the P.E.K.K.A.).

Once you have done this, you will want to send the Lava Hounds to the Inferno Towers, but make sure you have used the Yellow Card Spell to ensure the air defenses are hidden. Otherwise, they will attack those instead. The reason you want to focus on the Inferno Towers and the air defense for the Barbarian King is because once he dies, the Phoenix attached to him will be able to hit the ground defense. This is where luck comes in. From here, you just have to wait and see what route your troops take and hopefully they will take one that allows for them to clear the base fast enough. You can use the Haste Spell anytime you see the troops need it.

Haaland's Challenge Level 7 - Friendly Warmup

This is a lot like one of the warmups that you can do in the game. This one contains the following army for you to use:

  • x3 level 5 Barbarian Kickers
  • x2 level 4 Giant Throwers
  • x4 level 6 Archers
  • x6 level 6 Balloons
  • x6 level 4 Dragons
  • x1 level 30 Barbarian King
  • x1 level 30 Archer Queen
  • x3 Yellow Card Spells
  • x2 level 5 Rage Spells
  • x1 level 2 Freeze Spell
  • x1 level 5 Poison Spell
  • x1 level 3 Earthquake Spell

To begin with, you will want to deploy a Barbarian Kicker to the bottom right-hand corner, where they will destroy the air defenses. Next, use the Yellow Card spell to hide the canons at the bottom left-hand corner and deploy the Barbarian King. Once he is deployed, use his Spiky Ball ability to take out the X-Bows.

While all that is happening, use the Earthquake Spell on the X-Bows on the left-hand side of the base and take those out. Then you will want to deploy all of your Dragons, three Balloons, and a Rage Spell at the bottom of the base and let them deal with the bottom defenses. After this, head to the Archer Tower and deploy two Giant Throwers and a Rage Spell.

Finally, you will want to deploy the Archer Queen at the top right-hand side of the base and use her ability. From there, you can use the rest of your troops as you see fit.

What is Haaland's Challenge in Clash of Clans?

Clash of Clans usually has a season each month that players can participate in to obtain special rewards and prizes. To obtain these rewards and prizes, you would usually need to complete certain activities throughout the month to reach each level of the season. This month, the game is teaming up with Manchester City's Erling Haaland to have players take on certain challenges to obtain these prizes.

For the Haaland's Challenge event, players will have 12 different challenges that they need to complete throughout the month. There will be a new challenge available every other day (on odd days from May 1, 2024, until May 23, 2024) starting at 1 am PT/ 4 am ET/ 9 am BST.

You can participate in these challenges if you are Town Hall level 4 and above (don't worry, the game will give you a specific army, so you won't be at a disadvantage for being a low level). On levels 1, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12, the game will have a special challenge leaderboard where you can rank depending on how long it takes you to complete the challenge.

All Haaland's Challenge rewards

Here are all the rewards you can obtain for gaining Stars during Haaland's Challenge:

  • 2 Stars: x1Training Potion
  • 5 Stars: x50 Glowy Ores
  • 8 Stars: x1 Research Potion
  • 11 Stars: x50 Glowy Ores
  • 14 Stars: x1 Shovel of Obstacles
  • 18 Stars: x100 Glowy Ores

While Haaland's Challenge is the biggest part of the season, a few other interesting things are going on with the game. For starters, a new troop called the Barbarian Kicker is available for anyone Town Hall level 3 and above until May 31, 2024.

Then there is the Medal Event, which will encourage players to attack Town Halls and take out Cannons, Archer Towers, and Inferno Towers to obtain Medals. The event has the following:

  • Giant Throwers: A new temporary troop unlocked for Town Hall 6 and above
  • Yellow Card: A new temporary spell that works identically to Freeze
  • Hero Equipment - Spiky Ball: Allows the Barbarian King to shoot a spiky soccer ball at buildings
  • Football Archer Queen Hero Skin: Available via the Event Shop from the Medal Event

Of course, there will also be the opportunity to purchase skins for the Heroes. While the Archer Queen's skin is obtained via the Medal Event, you can purchase the Barbarian King Haaland, Football Barbarian King, and Football Grand Warden in the Shop. The Football Royal Champion is available with the season's Gold Pass. Finally, you can get Football-themed scenery for your base.
