How Smart Are You? Walkthrough – Cool Math Games

What on earth...

In the Cool Math Games puzzler How Smart Are You, the year is 3518 and you’ve detected intelligent life on a distant planet. If you encounter any problems trying to solve all the puzzles, read on for my full walkthrough.

Complete How Smart Are You? Walkthrough

Playing the game is relatively straightforward, as you’ll move around the screen using the arrow keys (or WASD) while using the space bar (sometimes the enter or left mouse button also works) to manipulate objects. However, some of these puzzles are tricky! 

On the plus side, you gain IQ credits when you complete taste correctly. These can be used to get power-ups or hints if you get stuck. So if you want to save that IQ for power-ups, read on to find all the How Smart Are You puzzles explained. If you only want a speed run summary, click down to the end of the guide.

How to play How Smart Are You?

To begin, enter The door of the pyramid (top left, above) and then through the door directly opposite you marked ‘continue’ on the next screen (top right, above). You can go through the door in the south wall whenever you’re here to enter the shop (bottom right, above) to buy hints, shield, and super speed. Shields and speed are only important if you want to get a great IQ score, or if you want to do a speed run.

How Smart Are You room 1 walkthrough

Go to the main doorway room (bottom left, above) and through the top-left door marked 1. Go through the door marked Dummy Filer, then walk through the door marked True on the right. You can click the computer terminal in the corner of each room to use a Hint or go back to the main room. Going to the main room doesn’t cost you any IQ and also gives you the IQ you’ve earned in previous rooms. From there, you can go to the shop and spend it.

In the next room (1-2), you can pick up the three boxes (using enter or space) and then drop them in the x-ray machine in the center. The boxes are marked 7, 2, and 9, so exit by the door marked 7. In room 1-3, read the note on each tree stump to get clues. Then go to the computer terminal by the bridge and type in MOON. You can now walk across the bridge, but read below first!

Be careful in room 1-4. As you try to cross, an eye will appear from the pit in the middle of the screen and if its gaze falls on you, you’ll need to restart the level. The trick here is only to move when the eye is in the ground. Also, you can see which direction it will look when it rises, so don’t be where its gaze will be when you stop still. Head out of the door, bottom right.

The next door is about coordinates as you move around the room. The exit is at 13,1, so go through that door.  You’ll now be back in the main room and door 2 will be open, so head through.

How Smart Are You room 2 walkthrough

In the room 2-1, you must choose the pattern that continues the sequence. The answer is the third button. In 2-2, the shapes can be ignored because it is the color sequence that’s important. You must pick up each box and place them in the correct order at the top, from left to right. The order is green, blue, purple, and red.

For 2-3, pull the lever and note the order in which the lights are triggered. The answer is yellow, red, yellow, red, so go through the matching door (the third one down). When you enter 2-4, walk to the center of the room. Hold down the lever until the lines align with the doors (see above). Now you can walk across the line and through the door. For 2.5, count the lines making up each shape. Move the shapes so they have 1-5 lines using the computer console, going left to right (see below).

How Smart Are You room 3 walkthrough

In 3-1, the one piece that can get through from the entrance to the exit is the rook or castle, so go through that door (second door down). When you go into room 3-2, look for the color/shape combination that is always the same. The door to go through is the one marked with a blue diamond. In 3-3, pick up each numbered block and place it on the microscope. When you do, you’ll see a letter (a-e) on each. The code to put into the door is therefore 92645

There are four numbers on the floor in room 3-4. You need to find the missing number to complete the sequence. The number goes between 8 and 21 and lets you add each two numbers (from right to left) so they equal the following number. This means the answer is the bottom door, marked 13. In 3-5, note that the different colored people are holding hands. The word you need to spell (by moving the blocks ) is UNITY. This opens the door, so go through the door at the bottom marked with a 1). 

How Smart Are You room 4 walkthrough

For room 4-1 it is the story of life, so go through the doors in this order: 3-1-2-4. You will then appear outside for 4-2. This is another movement order puzzle. The sequence you need is their food chain, which is grass, grasshopper, frog, snake, and eagle. 4-3 is about timing. Stand by any door and go through it when the matching hour number on the clock glows green. 

In 4-2, the light is projecting the pattern, so go through the second door down (which has four dots). When you get to room 4-5, it looks like an error has occurred. It hasn’t. You must refresh the browser and go back through the loading sequence and intro. Once done, the room will be completed. Just walk through the door.

How Smart Are You room 5 walkthrough

The trick with 5-1 is noting which triangle lights up when they’re in the same sequence (top to bottom) as the doors. The answer is Pink (the bottom door). 5-2 is the top door, marked 24, as it is the only one that has the same color on the grid. 5-3 is a color sequence grid and the answer you want is Purple (the bottom door).

For 5-4, you need to walk over the buttons in the correct sequence (using the image above) 3,4,1,2, and 5. When you get to room 5-5 look at the piece of paper on the floor. The only accurate constellation is the cross, so go through that door (door 3). 

How Smart Are You room 6 walkthrough

Walk over the buttons on the floor in 6-1 to get clues about how the sequence works. Only one letter always points toward the door with the same letter. The answer is the top door, marked N

To complete 6-2 walk through the laser so the door shuts. Open the help menu (press escape on your keyboard) and choose Skip room. You’ll now be in 6-3. Go to the top of the screen and turn the laser off. Walk through the door on the left (see above), and walk back into 6-3 now the door is open to complete 6-2. For 6-3, you can place the box on the bottom button and stand on the top one. Note that 3.14 is pi, so head through the top door. 

For 6-5, each button shows a sequence on the path. Only one sequence gets all of the way along it on symbols in that order and this button needs to be selected to be able to cross the bridge. The correct one is the bottom button. When you get to 6-6, stand behind each glass screen to see the circle in the center light up. Look for sequences in the colors and their backgrounds. The answer you’re looking for is the yellow circle, so go through the top door.
