Can you play Squid Game *ahem* I mean Crab Game on Mac?

Crab Game is a new game that heavily borrows from a certain recent Netflix hit series, aka Squid Game. But as the developer Dani states, Crab Game is “definitely not based on any online streaming pop culture Korean TV shows, as that would get [him] in legal trouble.”

But can you play Crab Game on Mac or other Apple devices? Thankfully, yes! Crab Game is a small indie game, produced by a single developer, and while it's available on Steam for PC, it can also be downloaded from itch.io for Mac and Linux.

While developer Dani has released the Mac and Linux versions, as per the development page "I have no idea if this works, haven't been able to test since I don't have a mac or linux." They also note that you'll need to have Steam Running in the background for these versions to work.

There's definitely an element of difficulty to getting the game to run on Mac. Multiple users have reported bugs with this version. But frankly, with Crab Game being a surprise overnight success, we're thankful it gets any wider system support at all.

In fact, it’s incredible that a game like Crab Game has such good platform support. Crab Game was developed in just three weeks, with the developer chronicling the creation in a YouTube video. The lifespan of Crab Game might not be huge, but for a fun game capitalizing on a hot trend, it's definitely worth downloading and enjoying yourself.
