How to play Crab Game for Beginners

Crab Game is a mini-game centered game inspired by the popular Squid Game series on Netflix. Players compete against each other in multiple mini-games to survive to the end and be the last player standing. This can be difficult for newer players, especially if you don't know what to do in each game.

How to Start

Join a Server

You can join a server by pressing the Find a Game button on the title screen. When you do that, a menu will pop up that lists all the servers available in descending order of how many people are on the server. If you're looking to start a game as soon as possible, it's best to join a server on this list that has about 25 people (assuming the max of 40) that has not started the games. Otherwise, you might get stuck joining a server that won't let you on or have to wait for several games to finish.

Create a Server

You can create a server yourself by pressing the Play a Game button on the title screen. From here, it will let you set some basic options for the game. When you are ready to start the lobby, press Create. Then, wait for players to join!

How to play each Mini-Game

There are several games that you can play. Here are the basic instructions for each game.

King of the Hill

The goal in this game is to stay on the hill as often as you can and as long as you can. The players who have accumulated the least amount of time on the hill at the end of the round will be eliminated.

Bomb Tag

A bomb will be given to a random person at the start of the round. After a few seconds, that bomb will explode. Players with a bomb must try to pass it off to other players before it explodes. The player holding the bomb when it explodes will be eliminated. Afterward, a new bomb will be assigned to a new player. This repeats until the round is over.

Red Light Green Light

Players must reach from one side of the arena to the other in time while avoiding getting targeted and eliminated. Any players moving during the Red Light phases of this round are immediately eliminated. You can only progress forward during the Green Light phases of the round. Anyone who does not make it to the end of the arena when the time is up is eliminated.

Tag

In Tag, a few players start off as It, and must tag other players before the time runs out. Any players that are It when the round ends is eliminated. This game is easy: just make sure you're not It!

Hat King

At the start of these rounds, several random players receive a crown. The goal is to keep the crown as long as possible to accumulate time. At the end, the players with the least amount of time accumulated are eliminated. To take a hat from another player, you must slap a player with a hat. Try to find a place to hide (halfway up ladders in corners is often a good option) when you have a hat to get more time.

The Floor is Lava

Players all start off on a different platform at the start of the round. Every couple seconds, one of these platforms will crumble and sink into the lava below. Any player on one of the platforms that sinks will sink with it and be eliminated. Players can slap each other in this game, so you have to jump between platforms and avoid players that might knock you off.

Tile Drive

In this game, people are randomly assigned to one of four teams. The goal is to make as many tiles as possible change to your teams color, which you do by touching them. At the end of the round, the team with the least amount of tiles accumulated is eliminated. The best way to win this game is go high up and get the wall tiles on the upper level as most players will be focused on the tiles in the center.

Glass Path

This game focuses mostly on luck. Players must go through a path that has two options for each step. One step will be flimsy ground and will break beneath you as you jump to it, and the other step will be solid. Players must make it through all steps before the time is up or they will be eliminated. Watch out for other players that might slap you off the platforms!
