How to Complete Curse of the Court Quest in Darkest Dungeon 2

The Curse of the Court questline is mandatory for progression - you must complete this quest to be able to face the final boss. The quest involves multiple complex steps that require careful preparation and strategic thinking.

1. Fuel Requisition

Your first objective is to visit Assistance Encounters, the Hoarder, and Field Hospitals to collect Fuel Oil for the fire bombs. This step requires multiple visits to these encounters, so be patient and thorough. Continue repeating this process until you receive instructions to proceed to the next step.

2. Caccoons

Head to the Inn that has an underground passage and look for caccoons. Purge them by using the Accellerant (fire bombs) to avoid fighting mosquitoes and anything that comes out of them. If you don't have them or forgot to equip them (as I did), you can simply destroy them regularly. You'll receive a blood sample that you need to take to the Inn.

3. Public Health Notice

  • Equip your stagecoach with the Public Health Notice quest item. Make sure it's Escalation 2 phase (or higher).
  • Next, you'll need to visit Field Hospitals to gather notes on how to prepare a cure. This isn't a single visit - you'll need to collect multiple pages of a book to gather all the necessary intelligence.

4. Defeat the Chirurgeon

Your quest for the cure now involves combat. You must defeat the Chirurgeon boss to obtain the Bloodworn Syringe, a quest item needed to collect blood samples. Prepare your team well for this encounter, as the Chirurgeon can be a challenging opponent.

5. Blood Samples

With your Bloodworn Syringe in hand, you can now begin the blood collection process.

  • Head to the Assistance Encounters to get the Human Blood Sample quest item. To get it, choose the dialogue option with a Curse of the Court logo.
  • Use your syringe on a Court-type enemy to get a Bloodsucker Blood Sample quest item. You must equip the syringe as an item and use it on any Crimson Court enemy.
  • Return samples to the Inn. You must be in Escalation 3 phase to be able to complete this part of the Curse of the Court quest.

* There are indications that you may need to collect blood samples from other enemy types. This step is currently being researched and will be updated as more information becomes available.

With a combination of powerful attacks, healing abilities, and crowd control, this team is ready to face any challenge.
