Many changes coming from the Entity.

Dead by Daylight has over 60 million players (including me), and even with this many people engaged, Behaviour Interactive still listens to community feedback and regularly updates the game. Check out the full DBD roadmap and all planned updates that we know of this year.

All Dead by Daylight Future Game Updates Roadmap

January - March 2024 DBD Updates

The first major updates on the Dead by Daylight roadmap are coming in early 2024. The most important of these are the FOV slider for Killers, which used to only be adjustable with DBD perks, and the 3-gen solution for Survivors.

  • Quality of life and gameplay
    • FOV Slider - Coming on all platforms. The goal is to help alleviate some players' motion sickness while playing certain Killers. The numbers will be similar to the perk Shadowborn.
    • Solution for 3-gen - Developing a system that will look at matches when players actively use the 3-gen strategy. This is a big update that I will personally enjoy as a Survivor main, as it gets very frustrating when the Killer pushes you to 3-gen yourself.
  • Killer updates
    • The Onryo - The developers listened to community feedback and will be improving the Onryo gameplay, bringing her closer to the first iteration. They will also focus on improving her Condemned playstyle in particular.
    • The Hillbilly - The Overheat mechanic will be adjusted so it's not as frustrating. As someone who has been playing the game since Billy was the only chainsaw Killer, I look forward to any updates for him. He is fun to play and play against (unlike Bubba), so I'd love to see a lot more people playing him again with this update.
    • The Blight Add-ons - The devs are trying to adjust the add-ons at a deeper level than just tweaking numbers to make them more useful for the Blight.
  • Perk Updates
    • Shadowborn - With the FOV update, Shadowborn will be getting a new effect.
    • Monitor & Abuse - With the FOV update, Monitor & Abuse will also be getting a new effect.
    • Save the Best for Last
    • Grim Embrace
    • Quick Gambit

March - April 2024 DBD Updates

With this update comes a lot of Killer tweaks. This won't be a big overhaul or a rework. Instead, a number of tweaks will be made to adjust their kits and make them better for Killer mains. I'm hoping for a great Huntress update, as she was my Killer main, but I haven't played her in ages.

  • Updates to Statuses
    • Mangled - Addressing the Survivors' frustration with this effect while maintaining its usefulness for the Killers.
  • Killer Tweaks
    • The Hag
    • The Pig
    • The Huntress
    • The Demogorgon
    • The Clown
    • The Doctor
  • Perk Updates
    • Sloppy Butcher

April - June 2024 DBD Update

The last update before the Dead by Daylight anniversary has a little bit of everything. The biggest boon for me here is the Bloodweb improvements.

I was one of the players who lost all in-game progress when the files were still saved locally. Instead of restoring my two prestiged characters to their levels, I was given the equivalent in Bloodpoints and then had to spend hours clicking through the Bloodweb for Bill and Nea. Any update that makes that experience quicker is the best update for me.

  • Quality of Life Improvement
    • Bloodweb improvements - As soon as you have one character to Prestige 1, you will be able to auto-level any character.
  • Perk Updates
    • Ultimate Weapon
    • Decisive Strike
  • Killer Updates
    • The Twins - Looking at a power rework to address frustrations on both the Killer and the Survivor sides. And no hat will still be added to Victor, but we can keep hoping.
