However, the developers have decided to make it up to us with a new chapter featuring the creepy Unknown killer and a new event. Continue reading to find out what the Dead by Daylight Blood Moon event release time and date are.

New and anticipated features in Dead by Daylight Blood Moon event update

The fog is ready for another iconic event to be added to its roster. The Blood Moon event is a new yearly event in DBD that will last for 13 days. This isn't just a multiplier like the usual Blood Rush and Blood Hunt events. It's a full event with a visual overhaul, tome challenges, outfit collections, themed rewards, the community challenge, etc.

During the event, the players will find and collect droplets of blood to create blood basins, which will spawn a blood zone. After one is created and a certain protection period passes, the opposite side can destroy it.

In the blood zone, the Killers will get an increased attack lunge but with an extended cooldown. When it comes to Survivors, the grunts of pain and pools of blood will be reduced. The zone will be huge, and as you go through the trial, more and more will be spawned. Whoever creates a blood zone will get the benefits across the map so long as that zone is standing.

Other than the tome challenges, you will also be a part of the Blood Seekers Community challenge objective. The higher the progression of creating blood zones, the bigger the bloodpoint bonuses for everybody.

Survivors will also get a special item, the Blood Sense map, which will show you the auras of all injured Survivors, but at a cost. When using the map, you will create blood pools around you, so you need to be careful if the Killer is around you.
