When Season 19 rolls around in Destiny 2, expect some big changes. The economy is getting overhauled, and destination materials are being altered in a way never before seen in the looter shooter. There's a lot to parse here, so let's get into the details.
Destiny 2 Season 19 Changes
Beginning in Season 19, Master Rahool will now exchange 5000 Glimmer for a stack of 20 destination materials. If a Guardian has fewer than 20 of a material to exchange, the rate will be 250 Glimmer per item. As of Season 19, this will be the only use for destination materials.
- Dusklight Shards
- Microphasic Datalattice
- Helium Filaments
- Baryon Boughs
- Spinmetal Leaves
- Glacial Starwort

Taking the place of destination materials are Dark Fragments, Phantasmal Fragments, and Herealways Pieces. As for purchasing items like Upgrade Modules, Enhancement Prisms, and Ascendant Shards, the destination material cost will disappear entirely. Removing destination materials also means that the Materialism Ghost Mods are going away. Bountiful Harvest is also being changed to obtain additional Glimmer when harvesting from resource nodes.
What does this mean for the actual resource nodes scattered around the worlds? They're staying there, but instead of destination materials, they will now grant Glimmer, XP, and reputation. Finally, vendors like Devrim Kay and Failsafe will have their rank requirements removed entirely.
