Best Mayhem Build for Warlocks in Destiny 2

Show them the power of the Old Gods.

The Mayhem Crucible mode has returned to Destiny 2. Warlocks, like Titans and Hunters, bring plenty to the table. While Strand is an option in Lightfall, we wanted to stick with what we know works. The Void Warlock can be devastating in Crucible and even more so in Mayhem. Here's our build for optimal destruction.

Destiny 2 Warlock Mayhem Build

This build is all about using the power of the Void to wreak havoc on other Guardians in the Crucible. With Void Wall grenades, Pocket Singularities, and the devastating Nova Bomb, you're bound to instill fear in your enemies. Since Mayhem focuses heavily on abilities and Supers, we put as much focus on that as we could. Note that you'll want to bring a reliable weapon for when your Void abilities are on cooldowns.

Destiny 2 Warlock Mayhem Abilities

  • Nova Bomb: Cataclysm: Hurl an explosive bolt of Void Light at a target, disintegrating those caught within its blast. Nova Bomb travels slowly and seeks targets. Detonations shatter into smaller seeker projectiles.
  • Healing Rift: Conjure a well of power that continuously heals those inside it.
  • Pocket Singularity: Launch an unstable ball of Void energy that detonates when it nears a target, pushing them away from the blast and making them volatile.
  • Void Wall: A grenade that creates a horizontal wall of burning Void Light.

Destiny 2 Warlock Mayhem Aspects

  • Child of the Old Gods: Cast your rift to create a Void Soul. When you damage a target with a weapon, your Void Soul flies to them and drains them, doing damage and weakening them. When a target is being drained, you are granted grenade and melee energy. Defeating a target who is being drained by your Void Soul grants class ability energy.
  • Feed the Void: Defeat a target with a Void ability to activate Devour. While Devour is active, final blows restore health and extend Devour.

Destiny 2 Warlock Mayhem Fragments

  • Echo of Expulsion: Void ability final blows cause targets to explode.
  • Echo of Leeching: Melee final blows start health regeneration for you and nearby allies. (+10 Resilience)
  • Echo of Starvation: Picking up a Void Breach or an Orb of Power grants Devour. (-10 Recovery)
  • Echo of Instability: Defeating targets with grenades grants Volatile Rounds to your Void weapons. (+10 Strength)

Weapons

Your weapon choices are largely up to you. We do recommend running a Void weapon like Le Monarque or Graviton Lance to make use of Fragments like Echo of Instability. With Heavy bricks being more available, we're also fans of a crafted Retrofit Escapade as well.

Armor & Mods

  • Skull of Dire Ahamkara: Nova Bomb kills grant Super energy.
  • Nezarec's Sin: Void Kills increase ability regen.

It's all about abilities in Mayhem. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of ability Mods to make use of since the Lightfall purge. In lieu of that, we recommend Mods that increase aiming down sights, reduce flinching, and increase ready speed. After all, you're more likely to be shooting while waiting for your Super to recharge.
