Destiny 2: The Witch Queen – New guns, class specific melee weapons, and exotic armor details

Plenty to get excited about!

Destiny 2's newest expansion, The Witch Queen, finally launches later this month. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the launch of what is said to be the game's biggest expansion yet. In the lead-up to the release, Bungie has released a Weapons and Gear trailer showing off some of the new exotics and the weapon crafting system. Here is everything that is shown off in the trailer.

There is a surprising amount of things to unpack from the short trailer. Perhaps the most interesting was the small teaser for weapon crafting. Weapon crafting is something players have wanted for years, and with this trailer, they got their eyes on it for the first time. It looks like players can customize the weapon's perks, and we are excited to see what kind of powerful or unique build players come up with.

We also got our eyes on some of the new exotic weapons and class-specific gear. Here are all of the exotics shown off in the trailer:

  • Grand Overture â€” Slug launcher charges full auto missiles (Requires Season 16 Pass).
  • Parasite â€” Worm launcher with increasing damage (Grenade Launcher).
  • Osteo Striga â€” Swarming projectiles trigger a toxic burst (Submachine Gun).
  • Hoarfrost-Z Chest (Titan) â€” Replaces Titan barricade with a Stasis wall.
  • Osmiomancy Gloves (Warlock) â€” Additional coldsnap grenade with enhanced seeking.
  • Blight ranger Helmet (Hunter) â€” While using Arc Staff reflected projectiles deal increased damage.

On top of all of that Exotic gear, we also got our first looks at the new weapon type, the Glaive. The trailer shows off a specific glaive for each class that features an interesting ability. Those three class-specific glaives are:

  • Titan Glaive: Edge of Action â€” Place a protective shield.
  • Warlock Glaive: Edge of Intent â€” Deploy a healing turret.
  • Hunter Glaive: Edge of Concurrence â€” Tracking chain lightning.

Anyone looking to see what these new weapons and gear look like can do this by checking out the official trailer below.

Bungie clearly wants to push the envelope with this expansion, and this trailer only seems to increase players' already high hopes. We will just have to wait until Feb. 22, 2022, to see if our expectations are met.
