Cleanse the essence!

To complete the Essence of Despair quest in Destiny 2, players will need to complete various activities on the moon. But before you can complete these activities, you will first need to get the quest.

Players can get the Essence of Despair quest by speaking to the NPC called Eris Morn. After speaking to Eris Morn, you will then need to complete the following activities.

  • Lost Sectors
  • Patrols
  • Loot Chets
  • Public Events

Completing the activities above will go towards filling a bar that will cleanse the essence. That said, you can find these activities by exploring the map and going to currently active events. Lost sectors will also have markings on the map, and the same goes for loot chests.

The more activities you complete, the faster the bar will fill up. If you complete enough of these activities and you will eventually fill a bar that will cleanse an item given to you by Eris Morn.

When you fill the bar, you will need to return to Eris Morn, and she will give you the next part of the quest, where you will need to infuse her magic with the essence.
