How to earn the Rose hand cannon in Destiny 2 Season 19

Every Thorn has a Rose.

Thorn is one of the most infamous weapons in Destiny 2, with it being one of the first Exotic weapon quests that Guardians went on. Players first had to rebuild the stock frame from which the gun originated, Rose, to forge the Weapon of Sorrow. Since then, the hand cannon has sat in collections with a fixed roll. That's about to change in Season 19. Here's how.

What is Rose in Destiny 2?

With the inclusion of the Competitive Division, Rose will be making a triumphant return to Destiny 2. It will be coming back with random rolls and an updated perk pool. The legendary hand cannon will be a hybrid with a 140 RPM frame, allowing players to move as if it were 150 RPM. Instead of an Origin Trait, it will roll with random grips, and its perk list will feature perks molded around the 3v3 nature of Competitive Division.

Earning the weapon happens in several different instances. After completing the Competitive Division intro quest (once per character), Guardians will get a drop with the perk selection Rose originally had. From there, Guardians will receive a weekly Competitive Division challenge to earn another roll. This also applies to each character, so there are potentially three rolls to earn per week.

It's good to see that love is being given to this legendary hand cannon that never quite earned Exotic status. Hopefully, it won't turn out to be a tyrant and ruin other PvP modes. It's not like Bungie has ever done that with another hand cannon.
