How to get Seraph Key Codes in Destiny 2

A lock with no keys is a tragedy indeed.

When you've reached the end of a Battleground Heist and run toward the rewards of a Seraph Chest, it can be frustrating to reach a locked chest. While the typical Glimmer and XP rewards are fine, you're here for the seasonal armor and weapons. To unlock the chests at the end of Battleground Heists, you must give up 500 Seraph Key Codes. Here's how to obtain Seraph Key Codes in Destiny 2.

You can obtain Seraph Key Codes from any of the playlist activities, as well as Patrols. In total, Vanguard Strikes, Gambit matches, Crucible matches, Patrols, and Battleground Heists will grant you Seraph Key Codes once completed. After your first playlist match each week, you receive a boosted number of codes, but this amount will decrease in future completions of that activity.

Seraph Key Codes are used to open Seraph Chests, which appear at the end of Battleground Heists. These chests only spawn after the final encounter, so you will have to finish the entire activity to claim these rewards. Each chest costs 500 Seraph Key Codes to open and contains extra rewards to help with your loot grind. To open a Seraph Chest, hold E to interact with the chest, consuming 500 codes in the process.

At ranks 12 and 32 of the Season 19 Pass, you can earn a Seraph Key Code Boost, which increases the number of codes you receive from activities. These bonuses stack and make a considerable difference when you're grinding for codes.
