There are three methods of getting your hands on Transversive Steps in Destiny 2. The first is by opening Exotic Engrams, though it's not a guaranteed drop, so you may collect a few other Exotic pieces before Transverstive Steps appears.

The boots can also be a random world drop, but this is extremely rare, so it isn't the ideal way of obtaining them because it can take so long. And even if you get an Exotic drop, the chances of it being Transversive Steps are slim.

Alternatively, you may be able to pick up Transversive Steps from Xur, Agent of the Nine, using Legendary Shards. The trader appears on the weekends, with his stock of Exotics rotating each week. But, again, the chances of the Warlock armor showing up in his wares is random, and it can be months and even years before it happens.

The last time Xur sold the Transversive Steps was on April 7-11, 2023, for 23 Legendary Shards.

Is Transversive Steps worth getting in Destiny 2?

Warlocks who participate in The Crucible should definitely look into getting Transversive Steps. Not only does its Strange Protractor Exotic perk increase your sprinting speed, but it also reloads your current weapon automatically after sprinting. This allows you to maneuver around the map quickly in PvE, avoiding your Guardian opponents and giving you the edge when it comes to sneaking up on them for the kill.

This extra speed is also good in PvE, in Strikes and Raids especially, as, again, it makes you swift on your feet when it comes to avoiding attacks and ambushing targets.
