Wayfinder’s Compass in Destiny 2 – Where is it and what does it do?

This compass doesn't point north.

Destiny 2's Season of the Lost was a notable season in the rich and evergrowing history of the FPS space MMO from Bungie. It was the final season in the Beyond Light era, and it was a shocking six months long due to an unexpected delay of The Witch Queen. This left plenty of time for players to completely upgrade their Wayfinders Compass and access all of the mods it had to offer.

Important Note: The Wayfinders Compass was removed from the game with the launch of The Witch Queen expansion in February of 2022. It is no longer obtainable.

Where is the Wayfinders Compass in Destiny 2?

The Wayfinders Compass was a reward for completing the introduction quest to Season of the Lost. Once unlocked, the Wayfinders Compass could be found in the Awoken wing on board the H.E.L.M. You could also find it in the Artifact slot of your character menu. Destiny veterans will know that each season features an artifact that gives your player extra power and mods.

What is the Wayfinders Compass in Destiny 2?

The Wayfinders Compass is an ancient Awoken artifact that allows movement and cartography between dimensions. Throughout the season, you would complete activities and earn Parralax Trajectory, a currency used to upgrade the compass. These upgrades were helpful in completing the quests in Season of the Lost and progressing further into them each week. You would also level up the Wayfinders Compass just by playing, and it would reward you with powerful mods to equip for the duration of the season.

Unfortunately, the Wayfinders Compass was removed from the game with the launch of The Witch Queen and Season of the Risen. It is unlikely to return, as every new season brings its own seasonal artifact. Still, it is good to know what it was and how we used it in case it is mentioned in any new lore entries.

I've been playing video games for the past 15 years and every time I turn one on, it feels like the very first time. Since I liked games so much, I decided that I would write about them.
