What do snowballs do in Destiny 2 Dawning 2021?

A truly chilling battle!

The Dawning is a wonderful celebration of light that happens within Destiny 2 to close out the year. While players are running around the world of Destiny, perhaps delivering tasty seasonal treats to the various NPC's, they may notice that there are piles of snow scattered about that can be interacted with. Here is what snowballs do in Destiny 2 Dawning 2021.

Players that interact with these piles, will pick up a snowball. This snowball can be thrown by pressing the button you use to fire your weapon. So naturally, you will see groups of guardians getting into the Dawning spirit by partaking in snowball fights across the system, including Europa (free roam, Lost Sectors, and the Glassway), weekly Nightfall Strikes (excluding Grandmasters), and Seasonal activities.

Snowballs actually give Guardians debuffs. If you are hit with a snowball, you will receive the Chilled to the Bone debuff, which causes you to not be able to sprint while the effect is active. Throwing snowballs will also give you a debuff called Frostbite, which makes it so you cannot pick up another snowball for a short period of time. Players can also purchase upgrades for them from Eva using Dawning Spirit for added effects.

So there you have it, that is what snowballs do in Destiny 2 Dawning 2021. While they don't serve any real gameplay purpose, it is a fun seasonal addition to the tower that can help put even the grumpiest of Guardians in a holiday mood.

My name is Mason Moses. I am an entertainment aficionado, who spends more time consuming it than I would like to admit. I've been playing video games for the past 15 years and every time I turn one on, it feels like the very first time. Since I liked games so much, I decided that I would write about them.
