Divinity is a weapon that revolutionized Destiny 2's meta upon release, with its powerful damage-boosting capabilities. Even today, Divinity still holds the spot for one of the best boss weapons in the game. With a unique trace rifle beam, and tedious prerequisite quest, Divinity is a high-value weapon with a beautiful design. Come join us as we explain what Divinity is in Destiny 2.
What is Divinity in Destiny 2?
What is Divinity?
Divinity is an Exotic Trace Rifle acquired from a meticulous questline involving the Garden of Salvation raid. The weapon harnesses Arc elemental energy to damage opponents. Divinity's intrinsic trait is Judgment, which means that unbroken damage from this weapon creates an orb around the enemy. If other players fire at this orb, it deals increased damage to the enemy. This ability is especially effective against raid bosses.
The weapon possesses Polygonal Rifling, which increases stability, as well as Particle Repeater, which further increases stability. Another one of the weapon's traits is Penance, which causes enemies who are afflicted with Judgment for a period of time to experience a burst of damage. Lastly, Divinity has a Composite Stock, which increases both stability and handling speed.

While Divinity is not optimized for solo damage, this weapon's damage buff is lethal in a full fireteam. This is why Divinity is most effective in raids, as with proper communication, all players can focus on the orb that Divinity creates and inflict massive damage. While this weapon can be used in PvP, its purpose becomes null, and other weapons outperform it on the battlefield. However, Divinity is top tier in PvE activities like raids and strikes.
