Diablo 4 Season 2 Class Tier List

Make your choice.

With Diablo 4 Season 2 now upon us, many players are rerolling new characters and trying out new classes in the process. As is the case with any season, some classes do stand out above others. Here's a look at where the classes currently fall.

Leveling class tier list in Diablo 4 Season of the Blood

To preface, all five of the classes in Diablo 4 Season 2 will be able to clear the content the game has to offer, so don't feel like you have to make a new character if you made one that's deemed to be lower tiered.

While a lot of people do focus on the endgame aspect of Diablo 4, the leveling process is just as important. You do have builds that work for both, like the Bone Spear Necromancer, but that's not always the case. Interestingly enough, this can make a class better for leveling but then worse for endgame.

Here's a look at where the classes stack up while leveling.

  • S: Necromancer, Rogue
  • A: Sorcerer, Druid
  • B: Barbarian

The Necromancer and Rogue sit atop the list because of how strong the builds can be for these classes. Bone Spear remains a high-end leveling build, and it might even be the fastest way to level out of all the classes, period.

The Sever Necromancer is another fine build, and we also can't forget Corpse Explosion. For Rogues, we have the Twisting Blades build being one of the most powerful leveling builds, and it's joined by Penetrating Shot and Rapid Fire. That's why Rogue sits in S tier.

Going down to A tier, we have Sorcerer and Druid. Sorcerers are very mobile, and Chain Lightning is one of the biggest damage-dealing builds we've seen so far. Ice Shards Sorcerer is also a strong choice. For Druids, we have the Pulverize build that'll see you transformed into a highly mobile damage powerhouse. This build excels in both AoE and single-target fights, so this build alone brings Druid up to A tier.

Barbarian sits alone in B tier for us, but there are still plenty of options available. While Whirlwind is one of the most popular builds, it's quite weak in single-target fights, and that's part of why Barbarian ranks so low for leveling. Your best leveling build for a Barbarian is probably Hammer of the Ancients, as it's fast-paced and has little downtime.

Endgame class tier list for Diablo 4 Season 2

Endgame is a bit different because we'll see more builds become viable thanks to having more skills and gear available to us. As mentioned, we see Bone Spear remain a strong build, but things like Werewolf Tornado and Stormclaw Druid also make leaps.

Here's how things shake out for the endgame.

  • S: Druid, Rogue
  • A: Necromancer, Sorcerer
  • B: Barbarian

The Druid makes the biggest gains here as Pulverize remains a strong endgame option from leveling, and see a few new builds join it as among the strongest in Season of Blood. Rogue remains very strong with its Twisting Blades build, but you'll have the option of swapping to Flurry Rapid Fire if you'd like, as well.

For A tier, we put the Necromancer down here not because it's bad, but because we feel the other two classes are ahead of it. Bone Spear is still one of the strongest builds in the game, and Infinimist will certainly get some play this season as well. Sorcerer has a variety of options with Blizzard, Ice Shards, and even Firewall. Chain Lightning falls off a bit as we go into the endgame, but you can make that work. It'll just be a bit harder to do.

Barbarian stays in B tier for us, but there are still plenty of good builds to go for. Double Swing, Rend, and, yes, Whirlwind remain good options. Rend is a very fun build because there's not a whole lot out there as satisfying as watching a boss simply bleed out.
