Since the game is connected to your local time, it can be easier to correspond activities or a little more complicated depending on your real-life schedule. Here is how you can keep track of characters and determine the best times to interact and complete quests as they are available.

If you're struggling to complete quests due to characters being asleep, don't worry! There will never be a time when every character is asleep simultaneously. Some characters prefer to be out at night, whereas others are early risers. Some of your more essential quest characters, like Merlin, never sleep, so you can interact with them anytime. The key is to keep track of the best times you can interact with each character.

However, keep in mind that when characters are sleeping, their homes will also be off-limits for that time. Specific locations like Scrooge's shop or Chez Remy restaurant are open 24/7. You will want to plan all your activities and quests around their available times or wait until they open back up. Here are all the sleep schedules for characters available right now:

You can tell when a character is sleeping by opening your map and locating the sleeping icon on their home location. When they wake up, this symbol will disappear, and you can see them roaming around again. Keep in mind that characters can also spend time in the shops as well, which can be a reason you might not spot them around the Valley. If their matching face icon is over Chez Remy or Scrooge's shop, they are bound to spend an hour or two inside, and you'll have to enter those locations to speak to them.

Even if the character you wish to speak to happens to be asleep, there are still plenty of activities you can do while you wait: gardening, decorating, cooking, developing friendships, or even completing other available quests. Make the most of your time by keeping track of the above schedules. Don't forget to check back as new characters are added.
